Natalee-Antoinette Johnson is an author, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Child and Youth Worker, and Ontario Teacher. She has a private practice as a child, youth and family specialist and community advocate. Natalee has served children, youth and families in diverse communities for over 15 years. She continues to challenge the status quo and uses her skills and knowledge to challenge social injustices and advocate for equity and equality.

Jeff Sowa, Rising Sun’s Mentor Program Director

Jeff is a Project Manager with 6 years of experience managing and delivering public and commercial real estate and office renovation projects; his educational background is in Business Project Management. He has grown his career upwards from project coordination to program leadership. He is innately in-tune with the various levels of roles and duties involved in project management, which makes him an exceptional leader. Jeff is the director of the Rising Sun’s Mentor Program. Jamal Pascall, Rising Sun’s Mentor Program Director

Jamal is business data strategist and change management leader with over 9 years experience in Banking, Risk & Operations. He would describe himself as a natural sociologist with a passion for learning  and constant curiosity to understand the behaviours of others. He is an experienced leader capable of effectively communicating to all audiences the task at hand as well as the desired outcome. Shemi Adeoye, Director of the Ubuntu Family Program

Shemi is a Program Coordinator with experience in creating programs for low-income families, new immigrants, and children. She is a graduate of Women and Gender studies from the University of Saskatchewan. Her goal is to see black communities in Canada thrive and she presently works on the LJ’s Legacy Foundation’s Single Mothers Connect program. Shemi can be contacted at
